.IT Domain Names

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level domain extension is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing imaginative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to give it with coworkers and fellows. The extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized around the world.

Having in mind the fact that .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that controls this top-level extension, such a domain can be ordered through a third-party domain service provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can order a dot IT domain for no more than 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been finalized. The only requirement is that the person acquiring such a domain has to be located in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
